Seasonal Closures

Gorilla Amphitheatre: The Gorilla Amphitheatre is closed for the season from October 15th, 2025. Our gorilla troop remains viewable in their indoor habitat.

Prehistoric Park: Prehistoric Park is closed for the season from October 27th, 2025, pending favourable weather conditions.

Animal Viewing Impacts:

PETRONAS Gateway to Asia Malayan Tapir Viewing: ‘Sempurna’ and her calf have daily access to the main indoor habitat from 10:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. They’ll also have access to their behind-the-scenes space and may choose to spend time there, especially when the calf is nursing, so viewing isn’t always guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.

Exploration Asia
The Exploration Asia Redevelopment project is officially underway! While there are some viewing impacts in the area, you can still visit many of your favourite species.

  • Species Viewable: Bactrian camels, Komodo dragons, white-handed gibbons, Malayan tapirs, red-crowned cranes, Turkmenian markhors, Amur tigers, wild boar, and Pallas’s cats.
  • Species Not Viewable: Snow leopards and red pandas have been relocated during construction, but don’t worry – these beloved species will be back in 2026. Our peacocks and Dalmatian pelicans are currently spending time in their winter holding space.

West Gate Closure

Due to significant construction activities in and around Exploration Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed for the 2025 season and is expected to remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.

  • First Seating: 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Arrival Time: 9:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.

  • Second Seating: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Arrival Time: 11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

  • Third Seating: 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Arrival Time: 2:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Specialty Brunch Pricing:

  • Adult (16-59): $74.95 + GST

  • Senior (60+): $69.95 + GST

  • Child (3-15): $43.95 + GST

  • Infants (under 3): Free


Members must be signed in to their ACCOUNT prior to adding tickets to their cart.

Additional Booking Information:

  • Specialty Brunch tickets cannot be applied towards a membership. Tickets include Day Admission to the zoo.

  • Ticket sales end at midnight, one day prior to the event. Tickets to this event are only sold online.

  • Guests attending the first seating can enter zoo grounds starting at 8:45 a.m.

  • Please note that our menu items marked as GF are gluten-friendly, as we are not a gluten-free facility.

  • Please advise in the note field if you have any infants or require a highchair. This must be requested one day in advance to accommodate.

  • Guests that wish to be seated with other bookings must add the request in the note field and ensure both parties are booked for the same seating date and time. We are unable to re-arrange bookings on the day of the event.

  • Your ticket price includes gratuity.

  • ParkPlus Parking at the zoo is $14. Wild Explorer, Wild Adventurer and Wild Guardian members receive free parking if they have successfully registered with ParkPlus.

  • Please enter with your tickets at our North Parking Lot and Entrance.

  • Please plan to arrive 15-30 minutes prior to your seating for sufficient time to walk to the venue.

  • Please note both the room and buffet will be cleared promptly at the end of the seating time.

Dress for the weather! The zoo is open year round with plenty of areas to explore both outdoors and indoors. Day admission, events, experiences happen rain, snow, or shine. Purchases/tickets are non-refundable. Explore Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo for more details.
