Seasonal Closures

Gorilla Amphitheatre: The Gorilla Amphitheatre is closed for the season from October 15th, 2025. Our gorilla troop remains viewable in their indoor habitat.

Prehistoric Park: Prehistoric Park is closed for the season from October 27th, 2025, pending favourable weather conditions.

Animal Viewing Impacts:

PETRONAS Gateway to Asia Malayan Tapir Viewing: ‘Sempurna’ and her calf have daily access to the main indoor habitat from 10:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. They’ll also have access to their behind-the-scenes space and may choose to spend time there, especially when the calf is nursing, so viewing isn’t always guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.

Exploration Asia
The Exploration Asia Redevelopment project is officially underway! While there are some viewing impacts in the area, you can still visit many of your favourite species.

  • Species Viewable: Bactrian camels, Komodo dragons, white-handed gibbons, Malayan tapirs, red-crowned cranes, Turkmenian markhors, Amur tigers, wild boar, and Pallas’s cats.
  • Species Not Viewable: Snow leopards and red pandas have been relocated during construction, but don’t worry – these beloved species will be back in 2026. Our peacocks and Dalmatian pelicans are currently spending time in their winter holding space.

West Gate Closure

Due to significant construction activities in and around Exploration Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed for the 2025 season and is expected to remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.

Polar Bear Breakfast

Bring your family and friends down for a fun and educational morning at the zoo! Admission to this event includes an exclusive before-hours viewing opportunity of our Wild Canada zone with a side of polar bear facts from our Conservation Education staff and volunteers. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about polar bears, what makes them so wonderful, why they are endangered, and of course, get a chance to see the bears in our care before their day begins. You'll get to hear all the up-to-date polar bear news at this event for all ages.

Afterwards, enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast with fresh fruit, pancakes, and more. Make sure to act fast – this event will sell out quick!

  • 7:45 a.m. – Guests may begin arriving and proceed to Wild Canada entrance

  • 8:00 a.m. – Guests enter Wild Canada zone

  • 8:30 a.m. – Exclusive viewing of the polar bears begins

  • 9:30 a.m. – Breakfast begins at Kitamba Café

  • 10:30 a.m. – Breakfast buffet closes

  • 11:00 a.m. – Breakfast ends

General (16+): $79.00 + GST
Senior (60+): $75.00 + GST
Child (3-15): $61.00 + GST
Infants (2 and under) are free*

  • Day admission is complementary with the purchase of a Polar Bear Breakfast ticket.

  • Tickets for this event are only sold online.

  • Infants 2 and under are free, please include the number of infants and highchairs required in seating request field.

  • Guests that wish to be seated with other bookings must add the request in the note field when purchasing their tickets, and ensure both parties are booked for the same date.

  • Seating requests and ticket sales end at midnight two days prior to the event.

  • Please note that our menu items marked as GF are gluten-friendly as we are not a gluten-free facility.

  • Your ticket price includes gratuity.

  • Polar Bear Breakfast tickets cannot be applied towards a membership.

  • ParkPlus Parking at the zoo is $14. Wild Explorer, Wild Adventurer and Wild Guardian members receive free registered parking if they have successfully registered with ParkPlus.

  • Please enter with your tickets at our North Parking Lot and Entrance.

  • This event takes place snow, rain or shine in the outdoor Wild Canada zone. Please dress for the weather, no cancellations will be refunded.
