Animal Viewing Impacts

Black Bears: Our black bears will be intermittently off-view between Tuesday, October 6, and Friday, October 23, as shingles are replaced on the viewing areas. Thank you for your understanding.

Mulch Work: Habitats around the zoo will be receiving fresh mulch on Thursday, October 8. Our lemurs, lions, red river hogs, and wood bison will be temporarily off-view as mulch is added to their habitats. Thank you for your understanding.

West Gate Closure

Due to significant construction activities in and around Imagine Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.

Buy tickets ONLY on our official website, CalgaryZoo.com. We do not authorize sales through unofficial third-party vendors. Be cautious of fake or misleading websites offering unauthorized tickets or discounts – tickets purchased through them will not be honoured.

Exceptions: The Wilder Institute's Calgary Zoo also partners with GetYourGuide.com, Viator.com, and Tiqets.com. Tickets purchased directly through these trusted sources are valid.

If you're unsure whether a ticket website is legitimate, contact the zoo's Guest Relations team at (403) 232-9300 before making a purchase.

Plan Ahead and Save!

By planning your visit in advance and purchasing your tickets online, you'll find rates that make exploring our zoo even more accessible and affordable. Ticket prices vary from day to day, and the further in advance you purchase tickets, the more you are likely to save!
