Animal Viewing Impacts & Building Closures

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo will close at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26th, as we host our annual celebration in recognition of employees who have achieved a service milestone.

Wild Canada will open at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1st, to accommodate our FOCUSED event, presented by the Camera Store.

Land of Lemurs Walkthrough & Outdoor Gorilla Amphitheatre: The two outdoor animal viewing areas are closed for the season. Lemurs and gorillas will be viewable in their indoor habitats.

African Savannah Yard: Our Hartmann’s mountain zebras and ostriches are off-view  while we complete exciting upgrades in the African Savannah Yard, including the construction of a new Savannah Barn for the animals. Our giraffe tower will continue to be viewable throughout the project.

We’re kicking off the Grazers Dining Series this year with a Farm to Table family-style dining experience. Enjoy a curated meal that highlights the best of our local partners, Rose Mary (Poplar Bluff Organics) and Calvin Raessler (Top Grass Cattle Company), as we celebrate fresh, sustainable ingredients.

Seating will be at tables for 6 to 8 people. Guests booked on the same order will be seated together. For guests that have booked separately and wish to be seated together must request in advance in the note field below. Tables and seating arrangements will not be re-arranged on the evening of the dinner.
All special diets must be pre-ordered and requested in the note field below.

Tickets must be purchased online in advance of the event. Ticket sales end at midnight on March 12th (MT).
