Animal Viewing Impacts

Land of Lemurs Walkthrough & Outdoor Gorilla Amphitheatre: The two outdoor animal viewing areas will close for the season beginning on October 15. Lemurs and gorillas will be viewable in their indoor habitats.

African Savannah Yard: Our Hartmann’s mountain zebras and ostriches will be off-view until the end of the year while we complete exciting upgrades in the African Savannah Yard, including the construction of a new Savannah Barn for the animals. Our giraffe tower will continue to be viewable throughout the project.

ZooCare Adopt a Species - Show Your Love For Wildlife
Donations

The ZooCare Adopt a Species program helps us provide exceptional care to over 4,000 Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo animals. With your support and symbolic adoption, we feed our animals specially designed diets, and create enrichment activities that encourage the behaviour a species would display in the wild.

Due to the ongoing Canada Post job action, $50 ZooCare adoption packages will be delayed until service resumes. $100 ZooCare adoption packages will be delivered via alternative carriers within the Calgary Metropolitan Region, while those outside this area will ship through Canada Post once operations resume.

Please note digital certificates will be provided free upon request for any delayed $50 or $100 ZooCare adoption packages.  We apologize for this delay and hope you will still choose to support the Wilder Institute Calgary Zoo and the over 4,000 animals in our care this holiday season.

$25 E-Adoption Package

We'll email you a personalized adoption certificate and bio-fact PDF. You'll be helping us save both paper and postage feeds -- which means more of your donation goes toward caring for the animals! If you don't see the animal of your choice in the menu, please make a note in the comments.

$50 Feature Animal Adoption Package

You package includes a personalized adoption certificate for your chosen animal, a full-colour collector bio-fact collector card, photo magnet and window sticker.

$100 Feature Animal Adoption Package

In addition to your personalized adoption certificate for your chosen animal, a full-colour collector bio-fact collector card, photo magnet and window sticker you will receive a plush toy.

Once you choose the animal selection you will be able to see which packages are available for your animal selection in the Donation Level dropdown.
