Early Zoo Closure

Last entry to the zoo will be 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, to accommodate set up for our Cocktails for Conservation (18+) event, presented by Jayman BUILT. Last entry to Destination Africa will be 3:30 p.m., with the zoo being cleared by 4:30 p.m. Thank you for your understanding.

Animal Viewing Impacts:

PETRONAS Gateway to Asia Malayan Tapir Viewing: ‘Sempurna’ and her female calf ‘Nyawa’ have daily access to either the main indoor habitat or the outdoor habitat from 9:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. They’ll also have access to their behind-the-scenes space and may choose to spend time there, so viewing isn’t always guaranteed. Thank you for your understanding.

West Gate Closure

Due to significant construction activities in and around Exploration Asia, the zoo’s West Gate will remain closed for the 2025 season and is expected to remain closed until at least 2028/2029. This necessary step supports the safe movement of visitors while we undertake exciting improvements to animal habitats and visitor experiences.

Donations

By becoming a Wildlife Guardian, you are showing your commitment to wildlife and wild places. At each level, Wildlife Guardians receive unique benefits, including a charitable tax receipt, while providing sustainable funding and care for the over 4,000 animals that call your Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo home.

All Wildlife Guardians Receive:

  • Free parking and 364 days of access

  • Unlimited admission to ZOOLIGHTS for the Wildlife Guardians

  • 20% off Special Events, including Wild After Hours events

  • 10% discount at all concessions and retails locations

  • Invitations to exclusive Wildlife Guardian events, as well as Conservation Talks & Tours and donor events

  • Free coffee, tea or fountain drink per visit

Advocate

Donations Annually: $600 to $1199

In addition to all benefits above, Advocates also receive:

  • A Dual or Dual Flex Wildlife Guardian membership

  • Two (2) guest admission tickets

Protector

Donations Annually: $1200 to $2999

In addition to all benefits of the Advocates, Protectors also receive:

  • A Dual or Dual Flex Wildlife Guardian membership

  • Four (4) guest admission tickets

  • Private guided tours of the zoo

Defender

Donations Annually: $3000 to $5999

In addition to all benefits of a Protector, Defenders also receive:

  • A Dual or Dual Flex Wildlife Guardian membership

  • Eight (8) guest admission tickets

  • Conservation Insider Opportunities

Champion

Donations Annually: $6000 to $9999

In addition to all the benefits of a Defender, Champions also receive:

  • A Dual or Dual Flex Wildlife Guardian membership

  • Ten (10) guest admission tickets

  • Zoo Insider opportunities

  • 20 Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo tickets donated to an organization in their name

By giving, you have the choice of a receiving a membership benefit, or to decline all benefits. The following options are available:

  • Dual Membership: With a dual membership you're able to get full membership benefits for you and another person.

  • Dual Flex Membership: A dual flex membership is one full membership for you, and a flex membership that can be used for any guest you choose to bring along.

  • Decline Benefits: You may wish to decline receiving benefits as a Wildlife Guardian. A tax receipt for the full amount of the donation will be provided.
