Inclusions
10 people (adult or children)
Price includes Zoo admission for the day
Reserved tables in the party room (Kitamba West)
Meal for each guest (main, juice box, tiny surprise)

Adult to Child Ratio
Children turning ages 3 to 5, we require one (1) adult chaperone for every three (3) children.
Children turning ages 6+, we require one (1) adult chaperone for every four (4) children.
Children 2 and under are permitted free of charge, however we ask that you please inform us of how many will be attending.
Size/Number of guests
A deposit of $160.00* is required at time of booking to reserve the date, time and party room.
Deposit is non-refundable
Remaining $240.00* is required at final payment. Birthday Party Booking charge includes 10 guests (see inclusions above).
Additional guests can be added on for $40.00* per guest (adult or child).
Maximum 25 guests per party

Location
All Birthday Parties are held in Kitamba Café (West Room). This party location includes a birthday table for your specified number of guests.
We accommodate up to two Birthday Parties per time slot, depending on the size of each party. Please be aware that another Birthday Party may be taking place at the same time.
It is advisable to arrive at the north zoo entrance at least 15 minutes before your party time to meet your guests and have everything in order. The party location will be open at the start time of the party and will not be accessible before that time. If the party begins late due to late arrival of guests, extra time will not be added at the end of the Party.
Please allow for 10 to 15 minutes to enter the zoo and to walk from the north entrance to Kitamba Café.
Meeting point once on zoo grounds is at the party location (Kitamba Café West Room).
Payment and Add-On Options
Initial deposit is paid for at the time of booking is non-refundable. Remaining is required at final payment.
You will be contacted after the initial birthday booking deposit is confirmed to arrange the rest of the details for the birthday party, including additional guests, choice of food, other food and beverage options, dietary concerns, Gift Bag and Carousel ride add-ons (note: additional fees may apply).
Add-ons and changes can be made up to 48 hours prior to the party. Payment will be taken when the add-ons or changes are made.
Refunds for any add-ons or numbers above the minimum booking requirement will be provided up to 48 hours prior to the party. After that time, no further refunds will be applied.
There is a maximum of 2 changes that can be made to the party.
You may reschedule your birthday party by providing us with at least two weeks’ notice pending availability of the new date.

Gluten Free bun and additional food and beverage options are available. The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo Birthday Party Team will contact you to provide options and finalize details.
At the Zoo/Party
You and your guests are welcome to come early or stay on grounds after the Birthday Party.
Guests may purchase items in Kitamba Café during the party to take into the Birthday Party location.
Outside food and beverages are not permitted in the party location with the exception of your birthday cake or birthday cupcakes. You are welcome to bring food and drink to enjoy before or after the birthday party in one of our public eating areas on grounds.
Please be aware that there are no refrigeration facilities for cake, so please prepare cake that can withstand room temperature.
You are responsible for serving your own cake or cupcakes. We can provide plates, napkins, cutlery and servicing utensils - please request at the start of your party if you require any of these items.
What if it rains or snows on the day of my Party? If the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo is open, the party will run as scheduled; there are no refunds or rescheduling due to inclement weather.
The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo does not provide any storage areas – all belongings must leave the party location when your party time has ended. We suggest bringing or renting a wagon to help you cart items between your vehicle and the zoo. Rentals can be arranged at our North Gift Shop.
Room Decorations
The room will be set up with basic Birthday Party decorations. If you would like to add your own Birthday Party decorations you may do so in the first few minutes of the Party. We are unable to permit early access to the Party location. All personal decorations must be removed at the conclusion of the Party.
Please note: due to the safety of the animals, all balloons, piñatas, confetti and balls of any kind are not permitted on Zoo grounds and are therefore not permitted in the party location.
Add-Ons / Extras
Gift Bags are $15 + GST.
Gift Bags must be ordered and paid for in full one week prior to your Party. These items are based on availability, and prices are subject to change.
Carousel Rides $5 per child for an Unlimited All-Day Rider Pass / $3 per child for a single ride
Parking
All guests will park in the North Parking lot and enter through the North Entrance. Please note that parking is not included in your Birthday Party. The cost is $13 per vehicle daily. Any attendees with a valid Wild Explorer or Wild Adventurer membership may use their pass for parking access provided that they are already signed up through ParkPlus.
